Dark Rum

Dark rum gets its colour from the ageing in the oak barrels process. Some dark rums are matured in either bourbon or sherry casks too, which allows different flavours to appear such as smoke or fruity richness.

Often referred to as navy rum, dark rums have a slight bitterness with a rich sweet molasses flavour.
