Benromach 10-Year-Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky -70cl
Benromach is the smallest distillery in Speyside, established in 1898 and built by the Benromach Distillery Company, it is situated to the north of Forres in Speyside.
Benromach is a slightly peated malt derived from peated barley. Aged for 9 years, mainly in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and some Sherry barrels and then married for a further year in Sherry barrels and finally bottled at 43% abv.
On the nose, it starts with some light peated notes, wet grass fragrances with fruity notes of citrus, pear and apple along with malted barley and a hint of caramel.
A fantastic starting point for those who want to try smoky whiskies, the finish is medium and warm, with some smoke notes lingering on the palate.
