Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10-Year-Old Whisky -70cl
A heavily peated Islay single malt, aged for 10 years on the shores of Lochindaal.
Using first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks to produce a deep gold dram.
On the nose the peat is distinctive along with some smoke and nuts, a bit medicinal some would say but that's Islay malts.
Tasting brings coastal expressions along with oak and warmth that lingers on the finish.
True to its roots this is a well balanced dram from an amazing part of Scotland.
